Intercultural Community living
Graces and challenges for the future
We are living in a global village where, unlike other times, people of various cultures, live in close contact with one another and share the richness of each culture. With more than 200 ethnic groups calling Auckland home, the city has already been labelled by academics a "superdiverse" city: almost 50 per cent of the population is Maori, Asian and Pacific peoples and 44 per cent were not born in New Zealand. We as the Auckland’s Community Centre are also seriously affected by those changes and start becoming more and more intercultural in our make up.
What is the Intercultural Community all about and what exactly does it mean for us now and in the future?
