Music concerts/events

FROM FLAVIO VILLANI @ ST Heliers Music Centre
This coming WEDNESDAY

In preparation for my upcoming concerts with the Taranaki Symphony Orchestra and the Bay of Blenty Symphonia on the 18th November in New Plymouth and the 26th November in Tauranga, I am holding a rehearsal of Tchaikovsky’s “Piano Concerto No.1, Op.23” with pianist Justin Bird supporting me on the second piano. It is going to be very informal and open to anybody interested and the friends that can’t go all the way out of Auckland for listening to it.
As I did it for the Rachmaninoff concerto this is the best way I can think of to practice the focus of such a big piece, so that I aim for a greater result when performing with the orchestras the following weeks. Come along if you want to hear some music, give me the tension I need to practice on and say hi. The event is private but feel free to invite and share it with friends.
Of course if you can make a trip to either New Plymouth or Tauranga come along to hear the real thing with the full orchestra too.
You can find more information about those concerts at these links
Entry is free but if you want to leave any Koha at the door it’ll help me with the costs involved (second piano and venue hire).
